Ever wanted to be a travel show host? It was GREAT!
With a VERY tight time frame (one week from start to finish - seriously) I needed to call in some people I could trust. Enter John Page of Page Tech LTD - as my Director and Columbus Ohio production company. Working with Experience Columbus was wonderful! They gave me the seven places they wanted to highlight and literally three days later we had the entire project shot and ready to go to editing. Hats off to the editing team who literally worked around the clock to make 9 hours of tape and b-role down to the 10 minutes you now see.
Funnest part: Having the "Civit" at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium climb from the caretaker to my shoulders looking for more banana,. SHARP CLAWS - but very funny.
Toughest Part: Wearing the floral apron at the Gahanna Herb Center and having to stare into the sun on multiple occasions as we shot this so quick and didn't have budget for a full crew (meaning no one to hold that big silver thing you see to block the sun for me...it's the little things huh?)
What I learned: (1) The we have two of the top rated attractions in the country - Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and COSI. Both are awesome! (2) How cool the Ohio Historical Center is (3) That I can make some GREAT tea!
Hope you enjoy the brief film and you get a nice laugh from it!

2009 Miracles And Magic Review
For the first time, we had over 500 children with life threatening illnesses and their immediate family members join us for the 1pm matinee (SOLD OUT) performance. It has been my goal to be able to continue to support more children and I feel great that we've been able to do so.
The opening party at our new venue, Martini Park, was a huge success with over 400 people in attendance along with mind blowing entertainment, special effects and surprises that had people literally jumping out of their seats. Special thanks to magicians Aaron DeLong, Brandon Williams, David McCreary and Steve Branham. Along with other special entertainers Mark Abbati of Joy Unspeakable and one of the top flair bartenders in our country; Rob Turek.
Saturday's family matinee performances showcased the amazing Dana Daniels (Los Angeles, CA) and Tim Hill (Cleveland, OH) with which I was honored to share the stage. It began with an illusion never before seen....the surprise and magic appearance of mini van center stage which was filled with 21 kids who then came streaming out one by one.
Tim Hill was filling the shoes of Kerry Pollock who was meeting up with his son returning from his tours in Iraq. Tim did a sensational job and got the show started with some great laughs and magic. Dana and his psychic parrot Luigi then brought the house down with their comedic charm and talent. I brought back some illusions from the past as well as brought my wife Stacey back into the show with help from our newest assistant and dancer Maggie Derr who all were fantastic. Of course we ended with the 'SNOW' illusion which has become customary for this production running 8 years strong.
I don't yet know the final numbers in terms of gross and net dollars raised but have great expectations based on the turn-out on both Friday and Saturday.
Special thanks to all of advisory board and committee members that this production now includes. It simply couldn't be done without them. What began as my wife and me selling tickets from our kitchen now involves over a 40 person committee of dedicated and passionate people who also want to help some amazing kids be just that...A Kid Again.
Thank you all for your support and patronage. Stay tuned to this page for information for the Dayton event in September 2009 along with the inaugural event in Cincinnati in 2010 and back in Columbus in March 2010.
Thank you and hope to see you soon!

The Bonk Show and Host Jon Petz pull huge trade show crowds at annual PMA show in Las Vegas

The BONK Show makes huge impact for JVC at the annual PMA show in Las Vegas March 3rd - 5th.
With attendee volume down across the board for most annual conventions, exhibitors are fighting for traffic and leads more than ever to confirm their ROI for that particular show. The Bonk show owned the convention last week at PMA. While other exhibitors were looking for traffic, The Bonk Show at the JVC booth had the seats filled bodies and the aisles filled with laughter and energy.
Hosted by none other than professional speaker Jon Petz and David McCreary with the added sparkle and charm of Veronica Tevelde the crowd was in hysterics while also learning about the new releases from JVC.
"Even when the mini shows ran overtime and were 15 minutes long, the audience never left! It just kept growing! It was an awesome venue and great team from JVC to make all this possible." Jon Petz
